Eating disorders are often under-treated due to cultural myths about what an eating disorder "looks like". Many clients share they did not feel they had an eating disorder due to misinformation from media or providers who are not specialized in this treatment.

Your relationship to food or body image impacts your relationship with others.
Your relationship to food or body image causes negative thoughts about yourself.
Your relationship to food or body image is connected to feelings of shame, depression, anxiety and hopelessness.
What therapy do you use for eating disorders?
I use narrative therapy which helps externalize the eating disorder thoughts, emotions and behaviors. I also use elements of psycho-education about the biology of eating disorders, cognitive behavioral therapy, radically open dialectical behavioral therapy, and art therapy.
